Wasatch County School District would like to congratulate Danny Labrum, owner and dealer of Labrum Chevrolet, on representing Utah as the state’s 2023 TIME Dealer of the Year at the @National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Show in Dallas last Friday.
The TIME Dealer of the Year award is one of the automobile industry’s most prestigious and highly coveted honors. The award recognizes the nation’s most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service. Danny was chosen to represent the New Car Dealers of Utah (NCDU) in the national competition – one of only 48 auto dealers nominated for the 54th annual award from more than 16,000 nationwide.
According to NCDU Executive Director, Craig Bickmore, Danny was the obvious choice for the prestigious award based on his statewide leadership among new car dealers, and his extensive local community involvement, highlighted by the annual Cool2Care car giveaway he helped create 13 years ago at Wasatch High School, which provides full-ownership of a new vehicle to one deserving student. The C2C giveaway encourages kindness and academic excellence among students, and has spawned a partner program, Cool Teachers Care, which awards a one-year lease, gas and insurance to an outstanding teacher at the beginning of each school year.
“He’s a good guy, he’s a community partner, he’s involved in the industry – all of those factors are what helped make the decision,” explained Mr. Bickmore.
Danny has served as NCDU president, immediate past president and is currently a board member for the group’s health insurance trust.
Danny serves on the board of the Wasatch Education Foundation, which works to improve educational outcomes for our District, and is a director for Invest Nest, a program from our Wasatch Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) that encourages entrepreneurship by providing funds to high school students for business startups.
Please join us in congratulating Danny and his family on this achievement! He has been an amazing partner to Wasatch County School District and we are grateful for his service and dedication to the students and staff of our District!
