Purchasing Food Locally
Wasatch School Food Services is committed to serving quality fruits, vegetables, Meats and Grains. Food Services is a member of a buying coop called UCARE its 17 districts combined to purchase and bid the food served for school lunch and breakfast. By combining buying power we manage to get great quality food at a reasonable price. In addition to buying power we combine resources that allows us to find and purchase more local food thus keeping the money within Utah. Wasatch School Food Service will purchase and served this year Fresh Utah Apples, Peaches, Pears, & melons when in season and Cheese curd from Midway Cheese Factory. Our agreement with our Produce suppliers is to buy Utah first if possible. Our goal is to purchase and serve only the best quality food to the students of Wasatch School District and if we can keep some of that money local that’s a benefit to all Wasatch County & Utah
