Teacher & Coach Information

Student transportation for authorized activity/field trips shall be provided within the capacity of the bus fleet and available drivers.  The main focus of the Transportation Department is the regular to and from school routes.

NOTE:  A minimum of one certificated advisor or coach and one other advisor or coach is required on all secondary school bus activity or athletic trips.  A ratio of one chaperon to five students is recommended for elementary level activity trips, but at least two supervisors must be present on all trips.

It is the recommendation of the District that bus drivers stay with the activity they have been assigned to.  However, if they will exceed their fifteen (15) hours maximum on-duty time, they are required to take off-duty time for a minimum of eight (8) hours.

When logging off-duty, in order to comply with DOT requirements and keep our students safe in case of emergency, the bus driver will leave a cell phone number where they can be reached with the activity supervisor.  The bus driver may keep their motel room on any trip where they will be required to drive into the late hours of the night.  IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ACTIVITIES “STAY OVER” IF THE RETURN LOCATION WILL REQUIRE DRVING PAST 1:30 A.M.
