The Grow Your Own (GYO) Teacher and School Counselor Pipeline Program is a competitive grant program.  It allows local education agencies (LEA) to use grant funds to award scholarships to select aspiring teachers paraprofessionals, school counselor assistants, and school counselor interns working within the LEA while also completing their training to become certified teachers or school counselors.  Awarded scholarships may be used for tuition, books, fees, certification tests, and for mentors.

Wasatch County School District is excited to provide this opportunity to our paraprofessionals interested in becoming licensed teachers.  GYO can provide up to full tuition assistance for eligible candidates enrolled in an educator preparation program by Fall 2023.

There are also opportunities for counselor assistants and interns to earn degrees in counseling, social work or school psychology.
