I am so excited to be a Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program Music Educator! The program is specially funded through the Utah Legislature to provide students access to a certified music teacher. I am certified in both music and English as literature is my second love. I have taught music in the elementary setting for ten years. I LOVE integrating subjects like reading, history, and science into music concepts. Academic vocabulary is vital in increasing student comprehension in all areas. My goals for students include being tuneful, beautiful, and artful! A typical class might include expressive movement, small group music theory practice, large ensemble instrument playing, or solo practice. I also enjoy reinforcing concepts found in the core classroom such as: summary, inference, problem/solution, root words and suffixes and prefixes, and number value. One of my favorite questions to hear from students is “Why?” Igniting a spark of curiosity often leads to a life-long love of learning. | I am a Utah native but have spent 15 years in Texas before moving back to UT in 2017. I’m happy to be back in the mountains and fresh air! I graduated with my bachelors degree in Music (Organ Performance) from Lubbock Christian University and went on to receive my Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies (Secondary Education, English, and History) from Texas Tech University. Go Red Raiders! I play the organ, piano, harpsichord, guitar, dulcimer, and I am working on learning the accordion! I have served as a church musician and done freelance work for many years. I have four boys who keep me very busy (ages 8-21) and I’m excited to have them grow up in the area I did. Carin Linker Please visit my page at the following link: |

He also gives you a glimpse of what it is like to work as an animator for Disney. I haven’t put and YouTube links on my website because students cannot access them with their devices. However, this would be a great opportunity as a whole family! My sister in law draws everyday with her kindergartener and 5th grader to his draw along videos. They are loving it! |

I am so fortunate to teach children! and teaching them music is joyful. We learn to sing in tune while playing singing games; play the beat and rhythm on instruments; listen, dance and move to Classical music; folk dance; learn to read and notate music; learn about composers; to be kind and respectful; and integrate language arts, social studies, math and science. |
