Making Up Failed Credit:

*Please meet with your counselor regarding all options below.

Teacher Credit Recovery: The term after a class is failed, students can work with their teacher to complete work if the student was close to passing. The F will remain on the student’s transcript, but they will earn credit towards graduation.

eSchool Credit Recovery: A student can earn credit for a failed grade by completing approximately 13 hours per quarter of online credit recovery. The F will remain on the student’s transcript, but they will earn credit towards graduation.

Grade Replacement: Students can replace any grade through completing a grade replacement. This is most commonly done through eSchool. Grade Replacement does not apply to concurrent enrollment classes.

Summer School: Click here for details. Meet with your counselor to sign up for WHS summer school.

College Course Options

CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT: Courses listed with a “CE” next to it are concurrent enrollment classes. A student may enroll in these high school courses and choose to earn college credit in addition to their high school credit. You must have a 3.0 GPA to participate in core CE class and a 2.0 GPA to participate in elective CE classes. College credit is awarded on a UVU transcript. You must first be admitted to UVU as a high school student to enroll in CE courses.

Live Interactive: Live Interactive classes are broadcast to us from the Orem UVU campus. It is a live, interactive broadcast.  You must maintain a 3.0 GPA to enroll in these classes. These classes often fulfill general education requirements in college. The Live Interactive schedule does not align with the WHS bell schedule, therefore it is imperative you meet with your counselor to arrange a schedule that works for you. You must enroll for these classes online through UVU, having it simply printed on your WHS schedule does not mean you are enrolled in the class! College credit is awarded on a UVU transcript Live Interactive Registration is done through the same Concurrent Enrollment process.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT: “AP” courses are considered to be the most rigorous at WHS.  We offer sixteen AP courses at WHS. Students earn high school credit and can opt to pay the $99 fee to take the AP test in the spring, which awards college credit on a sliding scale, based on the test score. Each college institution can accept and use AP credit as it so chooses. Check with the schools you are interested in to see how they accept and use AP credit by clicking the AP Transfer Guide below.

MOUNTAINLAND TECHNICAL COLLEGE: “MTECH” offers programs to high school students. Students who enroll in MTECH programs have an opportunity to earn state certification in that program area. Some program credit can be transferred to UVU to continue a student’s college education. MTECH programs offered at Wasatch High School are:

  • Certified Nurse Assistant
  • Dental Assistant
  • Medical Assistant
  • EMT
  • Electrical

WHS students may choose to enroll in MTECH programs that are located in Utah County as well. WHS students earn high school elective credit while enrolled in these classes. High school credit is determined by the amount of hours required of the program.  Program fees vary. Your counselor has a complete listing of programs offered by MTECH.
