    • What do I need to know about graduation practice?
      • Practice is the day of graduation from 8:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at the Event Center
      • Practice is absolutely mandatory. You may not participate in the graduation ceremony unless you attend the entire graduation practice
      • No food allowed at graduation practice
      • Honors cords will be distributed during graduation practice
    • What should I wear to graduation practice?
      • Normal, school-appropriate clothes. No cap or gown needed.
    • When I come to the Graduation ceremony, what do I wear?
      • Wear your cap, gown, and tassel
        • Note: The pointy part of your hat goes in the front all the way down on your forehead. The square part of the hat should be flat.
        • Your tassel goes on the RIGHT side of your face
        • Do NOT decorate your hat
      • Wear your school-given honor cords
        • You may wear any and all cords, medals, sashes, etc. given to you by the school
        • You may only wear ONE personal item (like a lei)
          • Graduating students are afforded the opportunity to wear ONE personal item during Wasatch High School graduation ceremonies.  Personal items should not include representations of drugs, violence, or political speech.  Personal items should be worn around the neck and cannot alter the look of the graduation robes in any way.  As such, graduating students cannot alter their graduation cap or add something that drapes around and/or covers their shoulders.  Please note, personal items that draw undue attention will not be allowed and students will be asked to remove them.  The previously stated guidelines need to be followed, but there is not a required pre-approval process for personal items.  However, If you have any questions or concerns about your personal item and desire for a pre-approval to avoid concerns prior to graduation ceremonies, please reach out to Kasie Payne, the WHS Graduation Coordinator. 
      • Wear nice clothing
        • Your gowns still show your lower leg and feet. Wear nice clothing and footwear. Most students will opt for “Sunday Best” attire, including dresses or slacks, collared shirts, ties, etc.
        • Note that the floor is very uneven, and you may be required to climb bleachers. Avoid shoes that are difficult to walk in
    • Can I decorate my cap?
      • No.
    • I got two tassels. Which one do I wear?
      • Whichever you want
    • Who can attend the graduation ceremony?
      • You will be given free tickets to distribute. Anyone with a ticket can attend.
    • What do I need to know about the graduation ceremony?
      • All graduates must be lined up in cap and gown by 4:30 p.m.

        • We will practice this line up during graduation practice
      • Guests may bring cameras and take pictures/videos. No blow horns, signs, or balloons allowed
      • Graduation ceremony will include:
        • March of the graduates
        • Short speeches from district and school admin and student representatives
        • Announcement of the graduates
          • When you walk across the stage, you will pick up your empty diploma cover. Actual diplomas will be handed out immediately following the graduation ceremony
        • Exit of the graduates
      • Once the ceremony is over, you will have time to take pictures in your cap and gown with guests. After pictures, you will pick up your diploma at the Event Center
    • What health safety precautions will be in place?
      • Masks optional for both graduates and guests
      • Guest numbers will be limited
    • What do I need to know about my cap and gown?

      • If you haven’t yet, please order your cap and gown through Jostens directly
      • Caps and gowns will be distributed during both lunches on Thursday, April 20. Caps and Gowns that are not picked up on this date will be available in the front office. 
      • Your gown will be very, very wrinkly. Take it out of the bag and steam clean it
      • NO decoration or alteration of the cap allowed
    • When will I get my yearbook?
      • Senior yearbooks will be distributed on Wednesday, May 17th after the Cool2Care Assembly.
      • Once students have graduated, they are no longer allowed on WHS campus. Please plan to get yearbooks signed elsewhere.
