AP Exam Registration

Students are responsible for ensuring that they have registered for each AP Exam they wish to take. The College Board-issued registration deadline for the 2025-2026 school year is November 14th.

Students will receive an exam code from their AP teacher in order to complete exam registration.  Students, who are not currently enrolled in an AP course, are welcome to register for an exam-only section for any AP exam WHS offers.  For assistance with exam-only registration, please contact Tyler Baird or Erin Heywood.  Click here for more information about how to register.

All AP exams are $100.  Any late registrations will be subject to a $40 late fee. Students who decide after the November deadline not to test or students that fail to drop their test prior to the November deadline will also be subject to a $40 exam return fee.  Note: All fees are added by College Board on not something the school can waive.  Please be mindful of deadlines and pay fees on time.

Once you’ve completed registration for an AP exam, the AP Testing Coordinator would need to cancel your registration, if you have changed your mind for any reason.  Dropping the course does not automatically cancel the exam.  Be sure you are communicating with your AP teacher and the AP Coordinator to avoid additional fees.

AP Exam Fees

$100 per AP Exam

Payments can be made to the school's financial office or on MySchoolFees

Discount available for students who applied and qualify for free and reduced lunch.

$40 late registration fee - After November 14th

Exams ordered between November 15 and March 15 for full-year courses incur a late order fee in addition to the exam fee. This fee doesn’t apply to exams for courses that start after November 15 and exams for students that transfer into the school.

$40 unused/canceled exam exam fee

If you decide after the November ordering deadline not to take an exam that was ordered for you, the charge is $40 per exam instead of the full exam fee. The $40 fee applies to any unused or canceled exam, including an exam ordered for a student who qualifies for a College Board fee reduction. It’s important to tell your AP coordinator if you decide not to take an exam.

This fee doesn’t apply if you transfer out of a school.

AP exam fees will be added to individual student financial accounts after November 14th.  A separate fee will be added for each exam for which students have registered.  Additional late fees will be added after the original deadline has passed.

Once fees have posted, please promptly pay the financial office for each exam and for any additional fees that you incur.

AP Exam Schedule

AP exam dates are set by College Board. Generally, students should take their tests according to the regular schedule

If circumstances arise that make it impossible to test on the regular day, a student can elect to take their test on a late testing day. A late test fee may be applicable depending on the reason for electing to take the test late. School activities, sports, and conflicts with other exams are examples of reasons to take late exams that will not result in a late fee. You can view the late testing schedule here
