Principal's Message
Happy 2024-25 School Year!
On behalf of Rocky Mountain Middle School, I am excited to welcome you back to school. We are so excited that you are a part of our school community. This is going to be an outstanding year!
When you enter our school, you will see our motto: “Learning is Required.” We believe strongly that we can help every student learn at grade level or higher, and we work hard to do just that. We also believe the key to student achievement is continual adult learning. Our faculty has been hard at work this summer doing just that – learning. We have attended conferences together, brought in consultants, met as teams, and most importantly, learned together. All of this is to help us realize our mission of helping all students acquire the academic skills, dispositions, and behaviors needed for future success. We believe in our students, and we believe we can help every one of them find success.
We also want every student in our school to have a positive connection with an adult, activity, or club. There are a variety of ways kids can find clubs, electives, and activities to connect to at RMMS, and we would love to help students and parents make this happen for every student. We have some new things planned to help 6th graders with the transition from elementary to middle school, and we will have some fun activities throughout the year.
We believe the combination of high expectations for learning and positive connections are a winning combination for kids, and we hope that your student has the best year yet. We would love to partner with you to help your child have a successful experience at Rocky Mountain. If I can be of any service to your child, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Brian Thorne
