Invitation to Serve
All parents are invited to serve on the School Community Council. As a member, you have a direct influence on how funds are spent. Elections for the council are held in August prior to the start of school. The announcement of elections is sent home with the back-to-school packet. Information about filing for an open position can be found on this website under election procedures.
Election Procedures
Every year, about half of the seats on the council are up for reelection. All parents with students attending our school are invited to join the council in August. Parents can not work more than six hours at the school and hold a parent position on the council. If more parents would like to be on the council than there are spots, an election is held. Teachers nominate their peers to fill open teacher positions on the council. If a parent or teacher leaves the council before the end of their term, the parent group or teacher group of the council selects a parent/teacher to fill the spot. Council members serve for two years. Members may serve up to three consecutive terms. If you are interested in serving on the council please contact the front office prior to Back to School Night each year.
