Final Results of New High School Name & Mascot Voting

We are thrilled to officially announce that our new high school will be named Deer Creek High School and the mascot will be the Riverhawks
Both the name and mascot were chosen through an inclusive voting process that engaged our staff, students, parents, and community members. The school colors—Navy, Silver, and White—reflect the strength and unity of our new school, while the Riverhawks showcase the Osprey’s presence in Wasatch County; this symbol embodies ambition, strength, and precision. Known for their prowess as fearless hunters, these remarkable birds of prey thrive along the Provo River and Deer Creek Reservoir, where their grace and power inspire all who witness them.
Celebrating Community Collaboration
This announcement marks the completion of a transparent two-phase process:
  • High School Name: Selected through a ranked-choice vote finalized January 19.
  • Mascot Decision: Selected through a ranked-choice vote from January 21-27.
We are deeply grateful for the active participation of our community in shaping the future of Deer Creek High School. This collaboration exemplifies the pride, unity, and shared vision that make our district so special.
Next Steps
As we continue preparing for the opening of Deer Creek High School, we look forward to sharing construction updates and other milestones along the way.
Thank you for your partnership and dedication to Wasatch!
