He received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Math from the University of Utah, a Master\u2019s of Education on the Diverse Learner and holds an Administrative Certificate. Mr. McNaughtan has spent 23 years in education, with nine years in the Park City School District as an Assistant Principal and Principal, though the bulk of his career has been with Wasatch, initially as a Math\/Social Studies Teacher at Wasatch Alternative High School, and ultimately as Principal of Timpanogos Intermediate School before opening Timpanogos Middle School as Principal. He lives in Heber with his wife of 28 years, Julie Olson, and has five children, three boys and two girls, plus one beautiful granddaughter. &nbsp;When considering what makes him proud to part of Wasatch, he says, \u201cI consider myself to be a \u2018Lifer in Wasatch County and I love this school district. It has fantastic teachers, administrators and the best students and families in the country. When I hear we, \u2018Expect to Excel\u2019 in Wasatch County schools, I believe it and I want to be part of that excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. McNaughtan\u2019s Educational Philosophy:<br>I believe that teachers are the driving force of excellence in education. If we can support our teachers on the front line, then our students will achieve excellence.
